Located on the west side of the APhA Headquarters building, the Botanical Garden will be accessible to the general public and to the many annual visitors to the National Mall.The goal of the Botanical Garden will be to display and promote to the public plants and botanicals that have medicinal and healing properties. Plants will be displayed that are indigenous to the mid-Atlantic area. Visitors will be able to take a self-guided walking tour of the garden; plaques at each station will describe the origin and medicinal properties of each plant or plant species. This will be just one of the many exciting new features of the building and one that will increase the public’s knowledge of botanicals in medicine but also raise the visibility of both the building and APhA.
